Active & Differential Probe

Active probes contain transistors or other active devices as part of the probe's signal conditioning network. They are used to reduce loading on the circuit under test.
A differential probe uses a differential amplifier to subtract two signals, resulting in one differential signal for measurement by one channel of the oscilloscope.
