The 1888 Megohmmeter/High Resistance Meter, with color touchscreen display, is used for high accuracy measurements of insulation resistance on a wide variety of components, materials and electronic devices. Resistance values greater than 100 T can be measured, the 1888 has a basic accuracy of 0.30% at DC voltages up to 1000 V.

The 1888 can be used in manual applications or used in automated system applications with the standard; GPIB, Ethernet or USB interfaces.

Precision Measurements:
The IET Labs 1888 Megohmmeter/High Resistance Meter provides resistance measurement capability from 1 k to greater than 100 T (test voltage dependent) with a basic accuracy of 0.3%.

To meet test requirements for a wide range of devices, the test voltage is fully programmable up to 1000 Vdc.

Sensing the proper current measurement range is done automatically to eliminate setup errors.

The operator can easily initiate an automatic zeroing routine of test leads to eliminate lead or fixture errors.

Easy to use:
The 1888's graphical user-interface is significantly improved, simple controls and indicators combine for efficiency of testing and productivity. The 1888's multi-function keypad provides the operator with an easy way to program and make measurements or all functions are available directly on the touch-screen.

1888 Display Types:
The 1888 Megohmmeter takes full advantage of the graphical color touch-screen display with normal, chart and graph displays. The normal display shows the measured test voltage, current and resistance along with setup parameters. The final resistance or resistivity value shown can be an average of the final measurements. There is also a zero indication shown on the display if the zero has been performed since the 1888 was turned on. The user can cycle through the chart, graph and numeric displays at anytime before, during or after the measurement making the 1888 extremely flexible for calibration and R&D applications.

1888 Graphical Display:
The Graph Display allows the user to see a graphical representation of the resistance measurement over time. This allows for better understanding of when the measurement has stabilized or characteristics of the device being tested. This allows for reduced test time and better understanding of the material or device under test.

1888 Tabular Display:
The Chart Display allows the user to see a tabular representation of the resistance measurement over time. This the user to look at specific values taken during the measurement time and each row shows: time, resistance, voltage and current. The user can move up and down through the data. This data is shown for each second of the measurement time. This allows user to look for any anonymities during testing and for review of the applied voltage.

1888 Resistivity:
The 1888 normally shows the measured resistance, current and voltage. The user can also select either volume or surface resistivity to be displayed rather than resistance. The user can enter the specific volume and surface resistivity coefficients for the the 1888-11 Volume/Surface Resistivity Cell or another cell. The correct units are displayed for resistivity in either cm for volume resistivity or /sq for surface resistivity. The top left hand corner of the display also shows if Resistance or which Resistivity is being displayed. The volume and surface resistivity calculations are based upon cell constants and material thickness which can all be entered from the I/O Settings Menu. Being able to display volume and surface resistivity measurements when combined with being able to save setups results in reduced measurement time and eliminating costly mistakes. As an example just configure the 1888 for volume resistivity with your required voltage, measurement time and cell constants and save this to memory as "Volume". The operator just has to recall "Volume" and start performing measurements.

1888 Menus:
The 1888 simplifies setup using straight forward menus with breadcrumbs so the user always knows where they are in the menu system. Pressing the Menu button from the Measurement Display shows 4 selections: Measurement Settings, I/O Settings, Utilities and About. The Measurement Settings menu contains all parameters such as; voltage, charge time, and measurement time all on one simple menu. There are no hidden menus or confusing user interface to navigate. Program Storage: Test setup conditions can be stored in internal memory for quick recall. A default setup can also be saved so the 1888 powers-up in exactly the same condition each time. The user can save setups for common tests performed in the laboratory or production. The setups are easy to recall and use text names to make it easier to identify which one to recall for the user. Automated Testing: For automated system applications, the 1888 Megohmmeter/High Resistance Meter includes; GPIB, USB and ethernet interfaces. This allows the automation for both configuration of the instrument as well as data collection. Safety Features: The 1888 Megohmmeter/High Resistance Meter provides safety features such as current limiting, a warning indicator when high voltage is active, and safety interlock, all for protection of the operator. Component Test Fixture: An accessory fixture is available for use with the 1888 Megohmmeter/High Resistance Meter which accommodates a variety of component types, including radial, axial and chip components. Its shielded case reduces electrical noise and interference and includes a cover interlock switch and remote start for maximum operator safety.
