USB-2408 Series Overview

The USB-2408 Series comprises multifunction DAQ devices, each designed for highly precise voltage or temperature measurements. Each device in the series is equipped with up to 16 single-ended (SE) or 8 differential (DIFF) analog inputs, 8 digital I/O, and two counter inputs. The USB-2408-2AO model also includes two analog outputs. All devices in the series offer 24-bit resolution, ensuring ultra-accurate voltage or thermocouple measurements.

The devices include 16 SE/8 DIFF analog inputs that can be configured for voltage or TC input on a per-channel basis. They offer eight software-selectable voltage input ranges that can be configured on a per-channel basis from +/-10 V to +/-0.078 V. When measuring TCs, the analog inputs are configured in DIFF mode. All devices also feature open TC detection to identify malfunctioning thermocouples.

The USB-2408 Series devices can sample analog input channels at a rate of up to 1 kS/s. For information about how noise filtering affects the throughput rate for analog inputs, users should refer to the hardware user’s guide.

The USB-2408-2AO model includes two 16-bit analog outputs, each with a +/-10 V range. Both outputs can be updated at a rate of up to 500 S/s per channel, and one output can be updated at a rate of 1 kS/s.

Each USB-2408 Series device includes eight digital I/O channels, and users can read from or write to each individual bit. Additionally, two 32-bit event counters are provided to count TTL pulses at read/write rates of up to 500 Hz. The counters accept inputs of up to 1 MHz. This comprehensive set of features makes the USB-2408 Series a versatile solution for a wide range of voltage or temperature measurement applications.
