The USB-1208FS-Plus is a multifunction data acquisition device that can acquire analog input data in either software-paced or hardware-paced mode. In software-paced mode, data is acquired one analog sample at a time, with the maximum sample rate being system-dependent. In hardware-paced mode, data is acquired from up to eight channels and transferred in blocks of 32 samples from the device to the memory buffer on your computer. The maximum sample rate is an aggregate rate, with the total sample rate for all channels not exceeding 50 kS/s.
You can configure the analog input channels as eight single-ended channels or four differential channels. When configured for differential mode, each analog input has 12-bit resolution. When configured for single-ended mode, each analog input has 11-bit resolution, due to restrictions imposed by the A/D converter.
The device has 16 digital I/O channels that are independently-selectable as input or output in two 8-bit ports. When configured for input, the digital I/O terminals can detect the state of any TTL-level.
The USB-1208FS-Plus is powered by the +5 V USB supply from the computer, and no external power is required.
USB-1208FS/LS/1408FS Series Overview
The USB-1208FS-Plus/LS/1408FS-Plus Series consists of low-cost analog and digital I/O devices. All devices in this series offer four differential (DIFF) or eight singleended (SE) analog inputs, two analog outputs, 16 digital I/O and one event counter. All devices in this series also support multiple software-selectable voltage input ranges, making them ideally suited for a wide assortment of measurements.
Software support includes DAQami, an out-of-the-box application for data logging, visualization, and signal generation. Data can be viewed in real-time or post-acquisition on user-configurable displays. Drivers are included for the most popular applications and programming languages including Visual C++, Visual C#, Visual Basic.NET, DASYLab, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Linux, and Python
