MP4301A Overview

The MP4301A Modular Solar Array Simulator (SAS) is a programmable DC power source with six outputs and a capacity of 6000W. It's designed to mimic the output characteristics of a solar array. Solar panels, which are made up of many solar cells, serve as the power source for satellites in satellite testing applications. These panels display unique I-V characteristics. The power output can vary due to changes in environmental factors like temperature and irradiation, as well as operational conditions such as eclipse and spin. Therefore, it's crucial to use a specialized power supply, such as the MP4301A SAS, to perform accurate tests and confirm the reliability of the satellite's power system.

Interfaces and Connectivity

Besides offering complete control of its three interfaces, the MP4301 features a high-resolution touch screen for swift and easy access to all its functionalities. The device assures reliable operation as it allows simultaneous viewing of settings and real-time output values across all outputs. Moreover, all modes of the Solar Array Simulator (SAS) can be configured and managed directly from the front panel.

On its rear, it comes standard with LAN, USB-C interfaces, and optional GPIB. It allows you to use your interface of choice today and in the future.

The MP4300 SAS Series

The MP4300 series of mainframes includes two models, each requiring a 3-phase AC input. The MP4301A model accepts 200/208 VAC inputs, while the MP4302A model is compatible with 380/400/480 VAC inputs. This versatility allows the MP4300 series to be utilized globally. Depending on the region, you can opt for 200/208 VAC (suitable for the Americas and Japan) or 380/400/480 VAC (appropriate for Europe and Asia), provided these options are available. The MP4300 series connects to a 3-phase AC input using L1, L2, L3, and PE.

The MP4300 series modules for the mainframe(s) offers two classes of 1kW models, the highest performance MP4361A 160V/10A auto-ranging module and the MP4362A 130V/8A module. The MP4300 modules also have over-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature protection to safeguard your device from damage. You can configure the MP4300 such that a fault condition in one module can be detected within 10 microseconds by other modules so that they can be quickly shut down to avoid hazardous conditions on your DUT.
