P50xxB With A Second Source (Option 402)
For intermodulation distortion (IMD) measurements (S97087B software app), a 4-port P502xB equipped with internal second source option 402 is recommended, allowing each built-in source to generate a distinct tone. The most common setup with the P50xxB involves using two reference receivers for power leveling: the first tone (f1) is captured by one receiver (e.g., a1 on port 1), while the second tone (f2) is measured by another (e.g., a3 on port 3). Alternatively, two Streamline Series VNAs can be cascaded, each producing one of the tones. This configuration requires the S97551B software for multi-instrument measurements. In both setups, an external combiner is necessary, and any of the remaining VNA ports may serve as the receive port.
P50xxB Streamline Series
The P50xxB VNA series delivers high-performance capabilities and features key metrics including wide dynamic range, fast measurement speeds, low trace noise, and excellent temperature stability. With software applications like enhanced time domain analysis with TDR and automatic fixture removal, you can easily characterize passive components with the same performance of a benchtop setup.
Available configurations include 2-, 4-port or 6-port models with varying frequency ranges.
