The EL4916A regenerative electronic load returns up to 95% of absorbed energy back to the grid efficiently, helping lower energy and cooling costs without disrupting grid stability. It automatically redirects excess power during current sinking, requiring no programming. To protect your Device Under Test (DUT), the EL4916A safely synchronizes with the grid by detecting live status, phase voltage, and frequency in real time before initiating power regeneration.
Generate Voltage and Current Transients
To ensure your DUT stands up to these real-world transients, you must simulate worst-case power transient conditions during testing. The EL4916A provides three functionalities for simulating either voltage or current transients for testing: Step, Constant dwell arbitrary waveforms and List.

Multiple Operating Modes
The EL4916A provides voltage priority mode (CV), current priority mode (CC), resistance priority mode (CR), and power priority mode (CP). Additionally, four other complex modes are also available.
Add Power Flexibility to Your Test System
Paralleling electronic loads enhances power flexibility in test systems, but conventional loads often struggle to maintain consistent Constant Voltage (CV) or Constant Current (CC) modes when paralleled, leading to performance issues like poor transient response. The EL4900 Series solves this with built-in paralleling that ensures balanced current sharing and consistent mode operation, supports primary/secondary configuration for unified control of up to 192 kW, and allows up to 16 units to be paralleled—provided models have matching voltage ratings and firmware versions. Parallel connection of mixed models with identical voltage rating is only applicable for 6kW and 12kW models

Control and Analyze Data
The optional PW9252A PathWave application provides quick, programming-free access to the sinking and measurement features of EL4900 Series regenerative loads. It supports flexible licensing for multiple instrument connections and can control EL4900 models and other Keysight power supplies via LAN, GPIB, or USB.
