The AWG is available as an optional software license (MSO8000HD-AWG). It provides a 50 MHz dual-channel function/arbitrary waveform generator enabling stimulus-response testing without external equipment.
Will the MSO8804HD give the full 8 GHz bandwidth on all four channels?
The full 8 GHz bandwidth is only available in optimized dual‑channel mode (C1, C3, or C1+C3). When all four channels are active, the bandwidth drops to 4 GHz.
How does the sampling rate behave with different channel configurations?
Short answer, 20 GSa/s is available only in optimized dual‑channel mode. With all four channels enabled the oscilloscope runs at 10 GSa/s, the MSO8804HD dynamically halves the sample rate when all channels are active.
What is the advantage of 12-bit resolution?
A 12‑bit ADC delivers 4,096 vertical quantization steps, far more than the 256 levels of an 8‑bit system, that's a 16x increase in resolution.
