Siglent SSG3021X Plus Signal Generator
The SIGLENT SSG3021X Plus is an RF signal generator with a 9 kHz to 2.1 GHz CW frequency range, 0.01 Hz frequency-setting resolution, and precise level control for dependable signal generation. It supports AM, FM, and phase modulation using internal, external, or combined internal and external sources, as well as pulse modulation and single- or double-pulse generation. A 5-inch capacitive touch screen, USB connectivity, LAN remote control, and support for a mouse and keyboard help streamline bench and automated workflows.
Key Specifications and Benefits
9 kHz to 2.1 GHz CW frequency range: Covers a broad range of RF component, receiver, educational, and production test applications.
0.01 Hz frequency resolution: Enables fine frequency adjustment for precise test-signal setup.
-110 dBm to +13 dBm level output: Supports low-level sensitivity checks and higher-level stimulus testing; the level-setting range extends to +20 dBm in this band.
0.01 dB amplitude resolution: Provides granular output-level control for repeatable measurements.
Level accuracy as low as ≤0.7 dB typical: Helps maintain confidence in applied RF signal levels.
Typical phase noise of -117 dBc/Hz at 1 GHz with a 20 kHz offset: Delivers a spectrally pure source for demanding RF measurements.
AM, FM, and phase modulation: Supports internal, external, and combined internal-plus-external modulation sources for flexible analog modulation testing.

Pulse modulation and pulse train generation (option): Provides greater than 68 dBc on/off ratio, less than 50 ns rise/fall time, and single- or double-pulse modes for pulsed-RF evaluation.
Frequency and level sweeps: Offers linear or logarithmic step sweeps, arbitrary lists, up to 65,535 step-sweep points, and dwell times from 10 ms to 100 s.
USB power meter measurement: Integrated USB power meter control automatically compensates for cable loss and temperature drift.
5-inch capacitive touch display: Uses an 800 × 480 RGB interface and also supports mouse and keyboard operation.
Remote and automated control: Includes USB Host, USB Device, and LAN with VXI-11, socket, and Telnet support; web-browser control is available on PCs and mobile terminals. GPIB is optional.
OCXO reference source (option): Significantly improves frequency stability, offering excellent temperature stability and low aging rates.
SSG3021X Plus Application Uses
Designed for R&D, education, and manufacturing, the SSG3021X Plus can be used to generate accurate RF test signals, evaluate receivers and RF components, perform frequency- and level-sweep testing, verify AM/FM/phase-modulated signal response, conduct pulse-response testing, and support power measurement or automatic level-control setups with a compatible USB power sensor.
