About Inserts

The 9170 Series of Metrology Well Calibrators are designed with inserts that contain holes bored into them to accommodate a variety of metric- and imperial-sized probe diameters. To ensure safe and easy insertion and removal of probes, choose an insert with the smallest hole diameter possible, but with sufficient clearance. After each use, the insert should be removed and buffed to maintain its effectiveness.

Any of six standard inserts may be ordered with each calibrator unit.
