Fluke Networks DSX‑AXTERM units are terminators used with the DSX‑5000 and DSX‑8000 cable certifiers to perform Alien Crosstalk (AXT) testing. Alien crosstalk is interference transmitted between adjacent cables in a bundle or patch panel and is a major source of noise in cabling used for 10GBASE‑T and higher‑speed applications.

10‑gigabit Ethernet performance requirements extend beyond testing individual cabling links. They also require verifying that crosstalk between neighboring links meets Alien Crosstalk performance parameters. A cable Analyzer used with the 10 Gig Kit— which includes the DSX‑AXTERM—was the first field‑testing solution capable of measuring 10‑gigabit performance and Alien Crosstalk in full compliance with industry standards up to 500 MHz.
