The Metcal MFR-1100 is a powerful, cost-effective system with a variety of options and accessories to meet nearly any application. The MFR-1100 power supply has a powerful 60W output, and can be used with several different handpieces, including a desoldering option. Compatible with hundreds of tips and nozzles, the MFR-1100 is extremely versatile and suited for use in demanding environments.

The MFR-1100 series uses SmartHeat Technology, a microprocessor controlled heating system which operates at lower temperatures and eliminates calibration time. The tip temperature is determined by the inherent metallurgical properties of the heater; no external adjustment or equipment is required. The power delivered to the tip automatically varies in direct response to the thermal load. This eliminates spikes and transients associated with electrically switched elements found in conventional soldering irons.
