HTC Solder Tip Cartridges are the high-power soldering tip range for the Metcal MX-5200 and MX-5000 Series soldering systems. All cartridges are available in three (3) temperature ranges: 700-series are nominally 734 ˚F/390 ˚C, 800-series are nominally 806 ˚F/430 ˚C and 900-series are nominally 878 ˚F/470 ˚C. Metcal SmartHeat® technology automatically adjusts power levels during each soldering operation to maintain accurate temperatures through the soldering process. The temperature/series is designated by the first digit following the dash in the part number. e.g., 700-series will be HTC-7xx, 800-series will be HTC-8xx and 900-series will be HTC-9xx. Metcal recommends the 700-series for most applications. 800 and 900-series cartridges are for high-temperature and thermally demanding applications. HTC cartridges can be used with leaded and lead-free solder.
