Blue, general purpose RTV silicone sealant with superior oil resistance
General purpose, 1-part silicone adhesive sealant, which cures at room temperature to form a tough yet flexible rubber gasket. This form-in-place sealant can be used for gasket replacement and gasket dressing.
LOCTITE® SI 587 is a metallic blue, oxime silicone paste used for gasketing and sealing applications in plant maintenance and various sized OEMs. As a form-in-place gasket/sealant, it has been designed to provide outstanding sealing performance against industrial and automotive engine oils. Its thixotropic nature reduces the migration of liquid product after application to the substrate - allowing for reliable quality control e.g. in dispensing automation as well as manual applications.
