The Proto J286LNXL features precisely machined teeth for a positive grip and reduced slippage, along with a robust locking mechanism that allows hands-free clamping to minimize squeezing effort, hand fatigue, and improve efficiency in repetitive tasks. A strategically positioned release lever at the end of the handle ensures a safe, quick, and no-pinch release even under full load, while a spring-loaded design keeps the lever out of the way during handling. Built for durability, it includes drop-forged jaws with a rugged tooth profile, cylindrical drilled holes in the moving jaw for maximum rivet bearing, and large-diameter rivets for enhanced joint strength and long-term robustness. A piano wire spring ensures smooth and efficient jaw opening. The jaws have a hardness rating of 48–51, with a jaw opening of 2-5/32" and a jaw depth of 1-31/32".
