Plato sponges are manufactured with all natural materials to exacting specifications. Pure cellulose (a wood derivative) is used. Cellulose is selected for its ability to hold many times its weight in water and for its resistance to abrasion and tearing forces which occur during the tip wiping process. Plato sponges are designed to a thickness which will hold water for long periods of time and meet ANSI (J-STD-001B) for low sulphur content and fine porosity.
